Lange Launches Grand Lange 1 25th Anniversary Moon Phase Limited Watch

Since the return of A. Lange & Söhne to the international stage of precision watchmaking for 25 years, one of the first four watches, Lange 1 with a unique eccentric design, has not only played a decisive role in shaping the brand , And occupy an important position in the German watchmaking industry. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the most important model, Lange will launch a Lange1 anniversary limited edition watch every month until October 24, 2019 (the original Lange1 watch was released on October 24, 1994). In other words, there will be a total of 10 anniversary limited edition watches, these watches will be decorated with silver plate blue label.

At the SIHH in Geneva last month, Lange unveiled the first Lange125 anniversary limited edition platinum watch. Today, the brand launches its second anniversary limited edition watch, the GrandLange 125th Anniversary Moon Phase Watch (model: 139.066). Like the first, the second has a silver dial with blue markers and blued-steel hands.

This watch is unique in its hand-engraved moon phase disk. The Lange regular moon phase watch uses a solid gold disc, which is chemically treated with a rich blue coating; then the laser sculpts the stars and burns the blue coating to reveal the original gold color. The Anniversary Limited Edition watch uses a more direct, but also more laborious: hand-engraved stars on a platinum plate. The stars vary in size and shape, creating a beautifully detailed night sky.

Although the moon phase is usually the focus on the dial, the hand-engraved disc is solid white gold, so this watch emphasizes the classic Lange1 dial layout. In addition to silver and blue, the only other color on the dial is red, declaring the power reserve exhausted with a red triangle. The Anniversary Limited Watch looks different from the regular model but has the same mechanism. There are hidden buttons between 7 and 8 o’clock for the moon phase adjustment. In fact, the moon phase function only needs to be corrected once every 122.6 years, and the excellence and accuracy can be regarded as a model of the watchmaking industry.

The Lange GrandLange 125th Anniversary Moon Phase Watch features an 18K white gold case with a diameter of 41 mm. Through the case back sapphire crystal, you can admire the watch’s built-in L095.3 manual winding movement, which can provide up to 72 hours of power reserve when fully wound. This movement strictly follows Lange’s specifications in design and retouching. At the same time, as an anniversary edition, the balance plate is specially engraved with the large calendar ’25’ and integrated into the blue line design. It is worth mentioning that, unlike the small Lange1, the date of this watch is not an instant jump, but it takes a few minutes to jump at midnight.

It is reported that the Lange GrandLange 125th Anniversary Moon Phase Watch is limited to 25 pieces and the official website price is 45,800 euros (including VAT), which is equivalent to about 350,000 yuan. (Photo / text watch home Xu Chaoyang)
